Description
Skagway's signature White Pass Train tour pairs perfectly with this bicycle trip to provide a bit of activity and fresh air alongside the best sights in Southeast Alaska. Join the train for a scenic climb 3,000 feet up to White Pass Summit, arriving in Fraser, B.C. Then, join a small guided bicycle cruise downhill back to Skagway with plenty of stops for sights, waterfalls, photos, all while absorbing the magnificence of the surrounding Sawtooth Range. The perfect all-in-one Skagway shore excursion!
Start the day by boarding the White Pass train right from downtown Skagway for an unforgettable ride to the Summit. Passing towering waterfalls, lush landscapes and glacial creeks, you'll enjoy a sense of Alaska's interior as Skagway affords the opportunity to get off the coast and into the mountains. This is Skagway's most popular train excursion, and eventually you'll cross into Canada and arrive where you'll meet your bicycle guide for stage two of this Skagway shore excursion.
In an intimate group of 1 guide per 6 guests, begin your downhill journey from Summit to Sea. This downhill, pavement-based ride retraces much of the history of the Klondike Gold Rush. The casual pace allows stops and plenty of time for photos while your guides paint historical and ecological scenes of this route and the surroundings. Eventually, you'll arrive back in downtown Skagway with a comprehensive understanding of the Valley, some exercise under your belt and time left in the day for exploring Skagway on your own.
